Mike will be playing at the Polk Museum of Art’s Red, White & the Blues festival with Sarasota Slim, featuring Josh Nelms and China Town Chuck with a little Nitro thrown in for some fun. We are the opening act for Blues legend Bobby “Blue” Bland. But besides the great music, General Admission ticket holders get treated to free beer and barbecue by Good Buddies BBQ all evening! A cash bar will be available with premium beer, wine, and mixed drinks. But, the perks get even better if you purchase V.I.P. tickets: open bar, food by Texas Cattle Company, a wine tasting, private parking, and a balcony overlooking the concert!

Mike and Josh are going to be driving fast to get back to Dave’s Aqua Lounge to play some hot rockin blues to all our friends in St Pete so come on our and support live music with the Nelms / Chavers Band. Dave’s is located on Gandy Blvd just east of the dog track we will be starting around 9:30 to 1:30.

Mike will be at the Ringside Café playing with Sarasota Slim and China Town Chuck with the lovely Lisa behind the bar mixing those wonderful ice-cold tastey adult beverages. This week we will start at 8-ishhhhhhhh and play until you holler uncle.

For all you Suncoast Blues Society members vote for your favorite blues bands to paly at the IBC show at Skippers. Tuesday is the last day to cast your ballot.

This Saturday The Nelms / Chavers Band will be at Jim’s Harley Davidson laying down some biker blues for all them HOGS. We start at noon and playing until around 3:30pm. The event is free and there are always some tricked out bikes here. They have some good eats for free here too. So come on down and check us out.

Sunday September 21st 2008

Mike will be at the Ringside with Sarasota Slim telling some stories singing some blues and having a great ole time. No reason to sit home because it’s an early show and the lovely and talented Lisa will be behind the bar. We start at 8-ish and go until they cut me off at the bar. Support your local starving artists.

Mike will be playing with the Glenn Evens Band with Cory Wheeler on guitar at the Ringside Café located at 2742 4th Street North St Petersburg, FL 33704.
The fun starts at 9 and goes until they cut us off from the bar.

Mike will be playing with Swinging Steve Arvey at Centro Asturiano in Ybor City for the Swing Time Dance club from 9pm until 1am. The Centro Asturiano is located at the corner of Palm and Nebraska in Ybor City at: 1913 N Nebraska Ave, Tampa, FL.
The Steve Arvey Band is a dual-sax-infused combo that jumps & swings the blues! Fronted by, Steve Arvey, on vocals and guitar, the band also includes two saxophonists on tenor & baritone sax, plus bass player and drummer. The band serves up a mix of swingin' originals and covers influenced by musical styles ranging from New Orleans R&B, to 50's & 60's Rock'n'Roll, to Soul, Jazz & Blues. Mike will be playing with Sarasota Slim at the Ringside Café. The ruckus starts around 8pm and goes till midnight. It’s a holiday you don’t have to get up early so spend some quality time with Slim and the boys and girls dancing prancing and just having a good ole time singing the blues.
